OUR MISSION

LOVE JESUS

Love is mankind’s greatest need, as well as his most driving force. A person will pursue the things he loves, and will do almost anything to obtain the object of his affection. In a world where distractions surround on every side: where priorities are out of order, where humanity’s sin enslaves, IMBC exists to equip people of every culture to Love Jesus. Instead of a religion of
rules, Christianity is love-based. with God.That love began

In Matthew 22:36-40, the Pharisees came to Jesus to entrap Him. The religious leaders of Jesus’ day had traditionalized the commands of God and designed a system of faith with 613 laws of do’s and don’ts. They asked Jesus which of the 613 was the greatest commandment. Jesus, knowing their hearts, answered them, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Love is the greatest commandment.

God more than anything, the rest will fall into place. One will naturally follow and serve God if God is his first love. IMBC wants to equip people of every culture to Love Jesus, because Jesus died for every person. Whether you’ve grown up in a church, or you are new to the whole church thing, IMBC offers a welcoming atmosphere and strong Biblical teaching to encourage you in your If one loves

walk with God. Our Sunday worship gatherings are designed with that purpose.
Loving Jesus begins with having a personal relationship with Him. The Bible says that “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). God was the first to love. The Father expressed that love through His Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” There is no one worthy. There is no other way. No one can be good enough. Trust Jesus as Savior today by repenting of your sin, and placing your faith in the One who gave Himself as a sacrifice for your sin. Then, and only then, can you begin a journey of Loving Jesus.

LIVE FOR JESUS

IMBC isn’t a church that only cares about getting people to heaven, but how to Live for Jesus here and now in a way that will have an eternal impact. We want to unite people of every culture to Love Jesus and to Live for Jesus. This is accomplished by being grounded in truth and in vital relationships where God’s people can be held accountable and thrive where they are. Jesus said the second greatest commandment was, “…You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:39). Living for Jesus entails loving each other and serving with each other in those things Christ has commanded us. Love results in obedience (John 14:15). Paul said in Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Living for Jesus is walking with God in obedience to honor and glorify Him. The Apostle Paul said in Php. 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Though death is a promotion for a child of God, as long as one is alive, his desire ought to be to live for Christ. That desire comes to fruition when a person is Loving Jesus. But God never intended for His people to embark on a spiritual journey alone. People were created for community, and it’s in a community of believers that we learn to Live for Jesus. Being a part of IMBC is a simple process of publicly declaring one’s personal relationship with Christ through water baptism, a command of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a part of promoting community for members and friends, IMBC offers a number of ministries. Home Groups are designed so that everyone can connect with each other on a more personal level. Our mid-week services on Wednesday nights offer studies for all ages. DivErCiTy is our multi-cultural youth ministry that offers an environment where kids can love and worship God freely. Anyone seeking membership or has questions regarding these various ministries can seek out our pastoral leadership for answers.

LEAD FOR JESUS

IMBC exists to take each person through the spiritual journey with Jesus. It is a succession of steps that work interchangeably. We begin with a personal relationship with Jesus and learn to Love Him supremely. While Loving Jesus, we grow in Living for Jesus through our actions as we obey His commands. Jesus said in John 14:15, as referenced above, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” Thirdly, while Loving Jesus and Living for Jesus, we come to Lead for Jesus. IMBC desires to see God’s people mature to a level of leadership. This includes stepping out in evangelism to share one’s faith and take the Lead in the Lord’s ministries; to be an example to the next generation of believers and train them in the things of God.

We learn from 2 Timothy 2:2, “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” As well as Titus 2:1, 4-6, which states, “But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. And so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self- controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.”

We believe God has saved us not only to know and Love Him, but also to Live for Him and Lead for Him. If God’s people do not step up and stand out, IMBC will be nothing but a memory, and lost people will never hear the good news of salvation. That’s why our mission is that of the Great Commission given by Christ to His churches in Matt. 28:18-20, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that i have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” This is Leading for Jesus.
